Today, U.S. President Obama signed the Senator Kennedy Serve America Act which expands opportunities for U.S. citizens to volunteer their efforts, time and expertise to benefit America. This act can be a valuable component of rebuilding the nation through individuals.
Any policy that encourages individuals to serve in their community or abroad is desperately needed, as there are a multitude of social needs to be filled. Encouraging individuals to take responsibility for their communities and its citizens is the right direction for America and every other nation.
This is only one step towards fufilling the promise of pure global cooperation, when individuals worldwide will someday donate their time locally and globally to advance the entire human race. There will be collaboration groups of every interest to join and to contribute. There will be no motive of money or compensation to drive the thoughts and actions of humanity. This will be a valuable philosophical component needed to save humanity by positively directing individual and perhaps global psyche.
