Free global education 1st grade to doctorate, M.D. The most sustainable world progress plan.

Ideal Global Education Scenario:

The ideal policy to unleash global capacity and productivity would be to open every classroom and training opportunity to the public at zero cost. Furthermore, each class lecture would broadcast live with on demand rebroadcasting for later review. Since this ideal proposal is not likely in the near future, the following substitute proposal is offered for the present era:

Global Education Objective:

The goal is to educate all willing, within one generation, in any combination of disciplines chosen by the individual. What if anyone could choose a discipline of study and have the immediate opportunity to learn? Suppose one was eager to pursue a doctorate degree in mathematics. One would locate any internet-enabled computer, streaming multimedia enabled phone or other supported device to access specific educational, government or other sponsoring websites that supports the download of previously recorded college math video courses. Upon downloading the specific courses, the student would learn from them. This scenario represents how to implement sustainable free global education at minimum cost.

Global Education Strategy:

Under the proposed Global Educational and Training Videos Project (GETVP), free internet educational video lectures and tools from preschool to the doctoral level will be permanently available, covering every trade skill, certification and academic discipline. These videos are perhaps live university lectures recorded in class or the lecturer reads from a predetermined script while incorporating effective learning assistance technologies such as chalkboards, visual projections and computer interactions. These videos are tools for primary self-study or supplementary learning. The student would learn at any desired moment and for as long as preferred. When the student feels ready, sample tests, practice drills and detailed solutions are downloaded. Upon completion of the sample test, the student self-grades the test using the detailed solutions. The student can repeat any portion of the lectures at any time and submit feedback and questions on the web. Upon compiling student questions and feedback over time, successive videos can be recorded and made available to clarify most requested topics, theories and to provide solutions to the most challenging and essential problems to master. The student repeats this process from freshman to doctoral years, as every relevant recorded lecture is available at any time. Free academic video examples are available on the world wide web and provide evidence that this proposal is feasible.

Naturally, this system implies that the opportunity to take proctored exams for formal credit or certification will be available. Nevertheless, anyone can pursue academic and other scholarly or hobby interests without time delay to fulfill any level of proficiency, including college higher education. Many parents will use the free videos to refresh or learn topics to coach their children. This is how the human race care for its own with free higher education.

Collaboration Considerations:

With an endeavor of so much promise, much applause would be warranted if multiple global public and private educational institutions contributed to the success of this vision. Realistically, institutions are lecturing daily on a diverse range of academic disciplines. It is quite awesome to imagine that it takes a minimum of only one institution to start the journey by carefully providing videos of all lectures for every discipline and making these free education videos widely known to be available to the public. The actions required are to capture high quality video-audio recordings of these lectures live and to post them on the internet for the world to experience. There must be some coordinated effort to provide reliable and updated web portals used to locate these files. Although individual institutions could accomplish this need, international organizations may be preferred for this role to increase likelihood of serving global best interests. If international organizations or governments would not be the primary coordinators, perhaps government-sponsored sites could be used to “mirror“ the lectures, providing alternate download locations in case the international, university or other primary sites experience technical difficulties or changes in their commitment to maintaining the online lectures.
